TOURISM OFFICE

DSC04195

Descend into the medieval cellar of the Tourism Office to discover the works of our artists. Their inspiration was drawn from a stable of Tournai: water and the Scheldt river in particular.

Daniel Locus presents a video in which he traverses Tournai from south to north aboard a barge, a poetic project aimed to shift the perspective on the city through the slow pace of navigation.

In conjunction with this work, Dany Danino presents part of his productions created as a Tamat resident in 2012. He exhibits among others “le profil à la pieuvre”, taking us on a deep dive into the depths of his organic universe.

Do not miss the double exhibition on the ground floor by visual and graphical communication students at the ESA (Tournai academy of fine arts) who worked on the development of the Triennial’s visual identity, or the works by Xavier Michel  (“Au chiffon d’encre”), a graphical designer who created multiple works and the exhibition catalogue for INTERSECTIONS #1.

Did you know?
Tournai, the Tourism Office is found in the heart of the Cathedral quarter.
It is housed in a magnificent building with a Louis XVI-style façade, where medieval cellars from the 12th century and contemporary art meet, with a reception area that reflects the multiple facets of the Notre Dame cathedral.
