A summer of Tournai-themed culture

Three young art historians, Robin Legge, Jeanne François and Lola Pirlet, wanted to create an original and unprecedented cultural project in a bid to enhance the dynamic behind the cultural and touristic offering of the Tournai city centre during the summer months.

Contemporary creators in the service of Tournai heritage

The philosophy behind the project is to create connections, intersections between the culture and the historical heritage of the city of Tournai from the novel and singular perspective of contemporary creators. INTERSECTIONS asbl puts forth a three-year programme of cultural events. These three events will allow for the development of a specific theme for each year, highlighting the cultural identity and heritage of the city of Tournai.

INTERSECTIONS asbl propose un programme de manifestations culturelles sur trois ans. Cet ensemble de trois événements permet de développer une thématique particulière chaque année tout en mettant en valeur l’identité culturelle et patrimoniale de la ville de Tournai.

2019-Triennial of Contemporary Art

2020- Triennial of design and textile

2021- Triennial of architecture and urban art

The INTERSECTIONS triennials are urban events that take the form of soft mobility tours, aiming to make culture accessible to all through quality and enjoyable activities, under particularly democratic conditions.

INTERSECTIONS asbl also aims to generate synergies between the different cultural actors, associations, institutions, tourism players, and social actors through numerous collaborations and partnerships.
